Why a studio runs its own products
Because it is the only way to be sure the advice is any good
A studio that only ever builds for other people never finds out what happens in month fourteen. It hands over, invoices, and moves on before the maintenance cost, the churn, the app-store rejection or the plateau in organic traffic arrives.
We run three properties of our own, which means we pay those costs ourselves. Every technique described on this site is one we are using on something we own — and when we tell you a thing does not work, it is usually because we tried it here first.
It also means the studio is not living entirely on client work. That is worth knowing about a supplier: it is why we can afford to tell you that a project is not worth doing.
